For the theme A Dangerous Place, I worked from my own experience. As a cis-presenting woman, I often feel afraid when walking home late or being outside in the dark. Since childhood, I have carried an inner image of what a dangerous place might look like: nighttime and encounters with unfamiliar men. I staged this perception by photographing a friend who represents a stranger. In the first two images, I asked her to move and walk in different directions to create a blurred effect in the iPhone photographs. In the second image, the person on the left is me, representing a woman or a child, while the person on the right is my friend, appearing as a man watching from a distance on the street.
