Chelsea Amada is a Filipino artist and cultural worker based in Vienna. She is currently studying Applied Photography and Time Based Media at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

Her artistic practice explores migration, identity, memory and the Filipino diaspora. Working with photography, video, installation, text and objects, she draws from personal histories as well as the experiences of migrant communities in Austria.

Alongside her artistic practice, Chelsea cofounded Bay’ N’ I Kunstverein in Vienna, where she serves as chairperson. The association creates space for BIPoC artists and cultural workers, with a focus on perspectives from the Global South.

Her work is grounded in making space for stories, memories and perspectives that are often overlooked, while questioning how migration and diasporic experiences are represented and remembered.
